GuideIT is a US based technology services company focused on providing value to its customers through technology alignment and optimization. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role in our Plano, TX office.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer with a strong background in network infrastructure, system administration, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto) and a solid understanding of routing, switching concepts, firewall policies, and VPN configurations (site-to-site and client-based). In addition to networking skills, proficiency in Windows Server management is required, with experience in Linux and Office 365/messaging systems being highly desirable. Cloud experience, particularly with AWS and Azure, is preferred.

Primary duties
  • Manage network support and related tasks as directed by the client’s designated lead.
  • Provide services focused on network setup, documentation, support, and new site installations.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services, including but not limited to:
    • Routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Load balancers, VPNs, and QoS configurations.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including applying service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Conduct system resource monitoring, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Adhere to established configuration and change management policies, ensuring all changes are reviewed, approved, and successfully implemented.
  • Collaborate with the company’s security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for network and system-related issues within strict SLA windows.

  • Expertise in networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto).
  • In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, and other communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server management; experience with Active Directory, MFA, and related systems.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and integration with messaging systems.
  • Strong familiarity with ITIL standards and maintaining PCI compliance in network environments.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems with a proven ability to manage and resolve tickets promptly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and clients.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Local to Dallas area and available to go onsite to customer locations as needed.
Desired Skills
  • ITIL training or hands-on experience.
  • Experience with monitoring tools for system and network performance.
  • Familiarity with patch management processes.
  • Experience with Linux systems and Office 365/messaging platforms.
  • Cloud experience, with a preference for AWS and Azure environments.
