GuideIT is a US based technology services company focused on providing value to its customers through technology alignment and optimization. We are currently looking for a Messaging Engineer I to join our team in our Plano, TX office. Only local candidates will be considered for this hybrid role.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Messaging Engineer with solid experience in messaging platforms, system administration, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments, with a solid understanding of email systems, collaboration tools, and security policies. In addition to messaging skills, proficiency in Windows Server management is required, with experience in Azure AD (Entra ID) and cloud messaging integration being highly desirable. Cloud experience, particularly with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance and Azure, is preferred.

Primary duties
  • Manage messaging support and related tasks as directed by infrastructure team leadership.
  • Provide services focused on messaging system setup, documentation, support, and new tenant/user implementations.
  • Configure and administer various messaging platforms and services, including but not limited to:
    • Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments
    • Exchange Online, Azure AD, and collaboration tools
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Google Workspace.
  • Support user provisioning, licensing, and group administration in Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Azure AD, and Google Admin Console.
  • Monitor and resolve tickets related to email delivery, spam filtering, mailbox issues, and Teams performance.
  • Support implementation of Microsoft Copilot in M365 apps, ensuring proper licensing, security, and data governance controls
  • Perform basic PowerShell scripting for routine administrative tasks
  • Help maintain email security and compliance policies, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
  • Assist with mailbox migrations across platforms or environments.
  • Assist with SharePoint migrations across environments.
  • Support Microsoft Teams configuration and basic troubleshooting.
  • Help implement and maintain data retention and compliance policies
  • Monitor system performance and service health dashboards for Microsoft and Google.
  • Assist with enrollment, configuration, and management of Windows, iOS, and Android devices via Microsoft Intune.
  • Support policy creation and deployment for device compliance, app protection, and conditional access in Intune.
  • Collaborate with the company’s security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures related to messaging platforms.
  • Provide technical support for messaging and system-related issues within strict SLA
  • Support identity and access management tasks in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user and group management, role assignments, and access reviews.
  • Assist with configuring and monitoring Conditional Access policies in Entra ID.
  • Help manage authentication methods including MFA, password reset, and SSPR policies.
  • Assist with enterprise application integration using Entra ID SAML/SSO configurations.
Required skills
  • Expertise in messaging platforms, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Exchange Online administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • Basic PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration
  • Understanding of Google Workspace tools and policies
  • Awareness of Microsoft Copilot setup and licensing
  • Knowledge of Intune and device compliance management
  • Email protocols and authentication (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation abilities
  • Understanding of SAML/SSO configurations for enterprise apps
  • Familiarity with Azure AD Connect sync mechanisms
  • Proficiency in Windows server management, Active Directory, MFA, and related identity/access management systems.
  • Familiarity with ITIL standards and maintaining compliance with security policies related to messaging environments.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems with a proven ability to manage and resolve tickets promptly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and clients.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Local to Dallas area and available to go on-site to customer locations as needed.
Desired skills
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or practical experience – provides a solid understanding of IT service management best practices, useful for change, incident, and service continuity management.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified or practical experience - demonstrates hands-on expertise in configuring and managing modern messaging environments.
  • Google Workspace Administrator Certification or practical experience : validates the ability to manage and secure Google Workspace services.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools: ability to proactively track messaging performance, availability, and health using enterprise-grade monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of patch and update management - familiar with applying updates and patches to messaging systems in compliance with security and reliability standards.
  • Cloud security and compliance awareness – experience with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center and basic familiarity with Azure security tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills – able to diagnose and resolve messaging issues efficiently across Microsoft and Google platforms.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) – working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and tools like Conditional Access, MFA, and SSPR.
